Polyethylene wax (PEW) is a low molecular weight polyethylene wax with a molecular weight between 500 and 1000. PEW sources come in three ways: ethylene catalyzed polymerization; high molecular weight polyethylene thermal degradation; polyethylene plant by-products. At present, foreign manufacturers generally use the polymerization method to produce PEW, this method produces PEW molecular weight distribution narrow, molecular size can be artificially controlled, the disadvantage is that must be carried out in large devices, capital investment. Domestic manufacturers generally use high molecular weight polyethylene thermal degradation method to produce PEW. This method uses raw materials can be polyethylene resin, it can be polyethylene waste plastic, the former product grade is high, the latter product level is low; there are some manufacturers of polyethylene plant by-product. PEW is widely used, especially after micronized treatment. PEW powder can be used as a fine chemical products are widely used in various fields, the value-added products greatly improved.
